Q: What day does your co-op meet?
A: Every Tuesday during the school year with breaks for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring Break. Our day starts with announcements at 11 AM and concludes at 2 PM.
Q: What ages/grades do you have?
A: We have nursery through 12th grade; however, your oldest child must be school age (5 years) to attend.
Q: How many classes are offered?
A: There are 3 classes for every grade, as well as a 10 AM class for high school students.
Q: Can my child attend just two of the classes?
A: Unfortunately, no. We are a completely volunteer, parent-led co-op, which means that it’s all hands on deck for the entire class day. We wouldn’t be able to offer what we do without the commitment of all of our parents.
Q: Can I drop my child off for the day?
A: Also unfortunately not. As stated above, we’re completely parent-led so we depend on parents being physically present every Tuesday.
Q: Would I have to teach right away?
A: Not at all! New members are only asked to teach after attending for a full semester (14 weeks) to get their toes wet and learn the ropes.
Q: How much does your co-op cost?
A: We try to keep costs as low as possible so that we’re attainable for the average family. The annual registration fee for the whole family is $105. Most classes do not have any additional costs, but a few will for supplies, such as labs, cooking supplies, or specialty art supplies. The core high school classes may also require the purchase of the textbook being used.
Q: Would I be able to be with my child the whole day?
A: That largely depends upon the availability of slots in our schedule. If we’re able to move people around, possibly. We prioritize safety and require class sizes to be specific sizes with a specific number of adults present. If there is a need elsewhere in the schedule, you would need to be placed there. That said, we’re homeschool moms too and we get it! You are absolutely allowed to check in on your child and nursing moms are always allowed to take breaks as needed and/or keep their child with them.
Q: When do we pick classes?
A: Class registration will occur at least 3 weeks before the beginning of classes. Registered members will receive information on how and when to register.
